ListServer breaks 10k!

Wednesday, October 27, 1999 [04:06 PM PST]

It's official, the AnalogX ListServer has just broken the 10,000 subscriber count! Thanks to everyone who joined, making this possible; and for everyone who isn't already subscribed, there's still time left! :) The very first listserver member signed up on June 8th, at 7pm, and it's been cooking ever since. I really enjoy sending out the weekly update, it's a nice change of pace, and gives me a chance to let people in on what's coming up, what I'm thinking about, and a few other special things only listserver members know about! heheh... It really validates what AnalogX is all about - setting the standard in free software. Actually, it's about music, rambles, and a whole slew of other things too, but the software is universally enjoyed!

Making the press happy...

Sunday, October 24, 1999 [09:08 PM PST]

Well, the last big milestone on the installer is completed - it now supports uninstall! I'm sure none of you care much for this feature (why would you ever want to uninstall any of my apps?), but for magazine reviewers, etc, this has been a real sticking point. So, all of the installers now feature this incorporated into them; not only that, you can now register after you've installed an app, so you can check it out before you register (it doesn't cost anything, it just helps me tell which programs people like, so I will continue to work on them). I even made neato little icons for them all, which is a big step for me, as I'm sure many of you are aware. If you run into any problems with the new installer, uninstaller, or register, please contact me with the details!

The best just got better...

Friday, October 22, 1999 [05:53 PM PST]

I bet everyone is wondering just how AnalogX TrackSeek could get any better? I mean, after MP3.com rated it a perfect 5/5, what more can you do? Maybe add a few more search engines... Sure, but that's hardly a 2.0 update (at least for me, some other developers would consider it one! heheh), so what else could I do? I've worked hard, and implemented just about every feature suggestion I've gotten, and a few that I came up with myself - the new version now indexes more than 35 search engines - that's more than ANY other MP3 searching tool, web or software based; no one else even comes close. Not only that, TrackSeek now sports a resizable dialog box, the ability to sort based on any column, sending URLS to an executable, and much much more! So what are you waiting for? Go grab the new version in the downloads area, network section, and let the searching begin!

Finally, AHT2.0...

Friday, October 15, 1999 [07:44 PM PST]

Well, it's finally out, AnalogX HyperTrace 2.0, which has several feature enhancements that people were clamoring for, including copying the results to the clipboard (in comma delimited format), measuring packet loss in realtime, disabling DNS lookups, and more! It's available right now in the downloads area, network section. I've done a whole slew of updates, so here's a quick rundown of the programs that have new versions (details can be found on their respective pages); AnalogX NetStat Live, AnalogX POW!, and AnalogX Scratch, so make sure to get the latest and greatest versions!

7 days...

Friday, October 08, 1999 [06:11 PM PST]

No, I'm not talking about the UPN TV show 7 Days (although I do like it)... This is something I've been looking forward to putting up for a while now; the keyword totals for the last 7 days - for both AnalogX Keyword Live and for AnalogX TrackSeek as well! The lists automatically get rebuilt every day, and has even more information than the normal client; like the number of competing webpages and the relative 'strength' of the keyword (for webpages). You can check them both out in the brand new Online section!

Keyword Live brings home the gold...

Monday, October 04, 1999 [03:18 PM PST]

The guys over at WebAttack clearly like AnalogX Keyword Live - they gave it their highest rating - the coveted Golden Editors Pick! I'm pretty jazzed about that, since the highest I've gotten previously was their Silver Editors Pick (which is like a 4.5 out of 5)... Just wait until phase 2 of Keyword Live comes on this week (shhh, don't tell anyone)! :)

Even MP3.com thinks AnalogX TrackSeek Rocks...

Saturday, October 02, 1999 [06:22 PM PST]

Well, it's nice to see that AnalogX TrackSeek has a few fans over at MP3.com ... It got their highest rating, 5 out of 5! You know, the only problem with a perfect score is that it's soo difficult to get a higher rating; I guess they'll just have to make a 6 for version 2.0 :)

The Art of Keyword War...

Friday, October 01, 1999 [09:17 PM PST]

I'm sure that there are probably a large amount of people who make it here who have their own websites, and this weeks release is a MUST HAVE for anyone who does, of course non-web enabled people can download it as well :) AnalogX Keyword Live allows you to monitor and calculate the top search words in realtime off of several popular search engines - that's right, find out what type of things users are looking for, not a couple months ago, but a couple minutes after you hit the 'Start' button! It's available in the downloads area, network section, so make sure to run over and grab it right now!
For TrackSeek users, there is a new version which fixes a couple of minor issues pertaining to proxy users; it's available in the downloads area, network section, right next to Keyword Live, so make sure to grab it as well.
